Facing Forward
There on the edge of tomorrow we sit
poised and composed by all our intentions
quietly waiting for the next opportunity
to leap into the abyss of our next moment
as if we had a choice or could hold ourselves back
Not likely the still small voice appears to say
it will be done as swiftly as the sparrow flitters
without taking any regard for or about this reflex
momentarily we are blinded in our passion for living
