Isn’t it an amazing journey this awareness we call Life?
To be physically present in a body which is totally dependent on its environment to experience it.

We are about to make a giant leap forward!

Here in the United States we had an election which could be called the Greatest Show On Earth… at least for the moment.
No offense to Dan Rice or Ringling Brothers!

I was reminded, as I sat down to write, of the song by Talking Heads – Once On A Lifetime.
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…
Same as it ever was…

kept playing through my silly mind and I finally relaxed enough to let go of my pent up energy.

The above picture of the York River with the ducks so quietly floating in the distance conveyed the next message…
Letting the days go by
Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by
Water flowing underground
Into the blue again
After the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime
Water flowing underground

and I became like the ducks who are unfazed by politics except the results of which destroy their and our environment.

Yes, we will all survive the next President and hopefully learn more about our relationships to each other and the world which sustains us. We are all co-creators and need to tune in to those songlines which run deep through Mother Earth.

Life is not all about economics or consumption, profit and loss or any of the other agreements we have made over the thousands of years of our human existence here.
It is about who we are as caretakers and family members of a species here which is as fragile as the many life forms which have and are now becoming extinct.

Yes! We are about to make a giant leap forward and we may fall a few times.
We may get a few scrapes, bruises, bleed a little or need a few sutures, but we can do this.
We have amazing resilience and strength in our collective wisdom.
We are to Teach Our Children Well

Another song popping in to my head which I played and sang for years in my younger days, Crosby, Stills Nash and Young…

“Teach Your Children”
You, who are on the road must have a code that you can live by.
And so become yourself because the past is just a good bye.
Teach your children well, their father’s hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams, the one they picks, the one you’ll know by.
Don’t you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.
And you, of tender years can’t know the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them with your youth, they seek the truth before they can die.
Teach your parents well, their children’s hell will slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams, the one they picks, the one you’ll know by.

Don’t you ever ask them why, if they told you, you will cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

And know as well, that I Love You, my brothers and sisters, and I look forward to what you and I will co-create from our hearts as we continue in this journey we call Life.
